Week Thirty-Six

Draw near to God... (James 4:8)

"Dear young people, like the first disciples, follow Jesus! Do not be afraid to draw near to Him, to cross the threshold of His dwelling, to speak to Him face to face, as you talk with a friend." --Pope John Paul II, World Youth Day XII

Think About That

Take a minute to think about the best conversation you have ever had with a friend. What did you talk about? How did it feel to talk so openly and honestly with a friend? That's how we are to talk with Jesus--as if he were your best friend whom you can tell anything, with whom your secrets are safe.

Take Action

This week write a letter to Jesus as if he were your best friend. What do you want to tell him? What do you want him to know about you? What do you want to ask him? What do you want to know about him?

Say A Prayer

Jesus, thank you for being my friend. I am happy to know that I can talk to you as I would talk to my best friend.

Did You Know?

The Pope's maternal grandparents were Feliks and Anna Kaczorowska. His maternal grandfather was a packsaddle maker.
